Where is Marathon Florida?
Marathon is a set of 13 islands located in the middle of the Florida Keys and is 10 miles long.
How far is Key West?
Key West is 50 miles away and about an hour drive.
What airports are close by?
Key West(1 hr), Miami (2 hr) and Fort Lauderdale (2.5 hrs) are our closest airports.
Can I stay less than 7 days?
Marathon is only licensed for a minimum of 7 day rentals.
Can I bring an extra person if the house is only licensed for X amount?
Each of our homes has a maxiumum occupancy set by the city, we are unable to allow guest overnight that exceed those rates.
Where can I go the beach?
We have 2 public beaches and one state park in Marathon that we would recommend visiting while you are here. Please visit the information page for those.
What is the cabana club?
Some of our Key Colony Beach homes have access to the Cabana Club, which is a private facility with a junior sized olympic pool and beach.
Do babies and toddlers count towards the maximum occupancy?
Yes, the City of Marathon counts everyone in the maximum occupancy of a house. Our homes are licensed for a certain number of people, even if you have a baby or toddler who will be sleeping in a playpen.
Do you have playpens and high chairs available?
Yes, we have a limited number available and are happy to provide those when they are available. Please let us know what you will need at the time of booking. Where can I launch my boat?
There are two public boat launches in town. One is oceanside at Mile Marker 54 and the other is at the end of 33rd St. For more details, please visit https://www.ci.marathon.fl.us/marinaandports/page/public-boat-ramps
What can I do if there is no room for a boat trailer at the home I want to book?
For those staying in Key Colony Beach, there is boat trailer parking on 8th St for $100 a week. Please contact the City of Key Colony Beach to make arrangements. You may park a boat trailer behind our office except for during holiday or lobster weeks.
I have a small, well-behaved dog but the home I am interested in does not allow pets. Will the owners make an exception?
Many owners do not allow pets due to severe allergies or having family with severe allergies. While we cannot make exceptions to the pet policy, we do have several great pet-friendly homes.
I have two dogs. Is it ok if I bring both?
We do have to get more than one dog approved with the owner if the home allows. There is a $250 pet fee per dog.
I see a boat lift in the pictures. May we use that during our stay?
Due to liability and insurance issues, boat lifts are not included with any of our rentals. The boat lift is not included in our calculation of dockage, so any dockage listed is available for your use.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel in writing up to 60 days before arrival, you will be refunded everything but the processing fee. If you cancel less than 60 days before arrival, your deposit and any prepaid rent (less the processing fee) will be refunded ONLY if we are able to procure another rental for that same period. If no rental is procured, you will loose your deposit and any prepaid rent, not to exceed the amount of your rental.
What time is check in and check out?
Check in time is 4 -5 pm. Please let us know if you will be checking in later. Check out time is 9 am.
What is the minimum age you must be to rent?
Someone over the age of 25 must be in the home at all times during the rental period.
